Presentations
At AMUG, we will host a one-hour session where Dr. Paul A. Davies will start us off by presenting New Metal Powders for Additive Manufacturing, including super duplex and austenitic stainless steels, and new developments in hot work tool steels. During the second part of our session, Dr. Eleonora Bettini will focus on the Latest Developments of Osprey® HCCu and Osprey® Cu Alloys for Additive Manufacturing together with Dr. Mahmood Shirooyeh, Senior Materials Scientist at 3DEO. They will also present a case study on the effect of impurities on the electrical conductivity of Cu powders, which has been conducted in collaboration with 3DEO.

Paul A Davies, PhD, Technical Solutions Manager for Metal Powder at Sandvik
Paul Davies studied physics at Swansea University, Wales, U.K., and completed a PhD in the field of Material Science. He has five years’ experience working in the steel industry in the automotive and defense sectors and has been with Sandvik for more than 16 years. He specializes in powder metallurgy, with a particular focus on Metal Injection Molding and Additive Manufacturing.
Eleonora Bettini, PhD, Customer Application Specialist for Metal Powder at Sandvik
Eleonora Bettini studied Chemical and Process Engineering at Bologna University, Italy, and completed a PhD in the field of Surface and Corrosion Science at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. She has experience in corrosion-resistant alloys, alloy design for the development of new alloys with improved mechanical and/or corrosion properties. She has been with Sandvik for more than 10 years and the past 3 years she has specialized in powder metallurgy, additive manufacturing with a particular focus on Binder Jetting.
