Season’s greetings from us
We are nearing the end of 2023 and it’s high time we look back on what has undoubtedly been an eventful year for us. Let’s take a closer look at some of the highlights of 2023.
On April 12 we happily announced that our webshop Osprey® Online is open for business – the first fully automated webshop for metal powders on the market. Osprey® Online offers premium metal powders for additive manufacturing and is servicing Europe as a first step, with more markets being added.
It was inaugurated with a highly anticipated, special-edition episode of interactive webinar series Additive by Sandvik: Material Matters, which included an introduction to the new platform, a step-by-step tutorial, and an in-depth presentation of some of our alloys currently in our webshop.
Our webshop, along with our websites for controlled expansion (CE) alloys, additive manufacturing services, and metal powder, had a makeover this fall. On September 21st Sandvik introduced our new logotype and visual identity. Representing the new and modern Sandvik, the updated brand identity rests firmly on three core elements: proactive partnerships, forward-thinking solutions, and sustainable progress.
It was not only our digital presence that was transformed this year, but also our presence at Formnext, where our booth featured the new Sandvik logo. Also featured in the Sandvik booth, was a selection from our range of Osprey® metal powders, including copper alloy Osprey® C18150 and austenitic stainless steel Osprey® 904L.
During the week of Formnext, we also shared the news of two collaborations that we are really proud to be part of. On November 6, HP and Sandvik announced a strategic collaboration aiming to pioneer a new era of advanced materials for additive manufacturing.
Furthermore, we announced that Sandvik, along with software company Dyndrite and additive manufacturing materials producers Constellium and Elementum 3D, have formed the first industry-led materials consortium for additive manufacturing, aiming to make parameters and related testing data for common materials freely and publicly available to end users.
Last, but not least, we were honored to be named bronze winner of the EPMA Sustainability award at the European Powder Metallurgy Association (EPMA) congress in Lisbon earlier this fall. The EPMA aims to award companies that “have a high effort in acting for sustainability”, and to inspire others by sharing good examples.
Thank you all, and season’s greetings!
We have no doubt that 2024 has some exciting things in store, but for now, we would like to sincerely thank each and every one of you for making this a year to remember.
Whether it is related to metal powder, additive manufacturing services or controlled expansion alloys, we are always happy to provide support and expertise – this year, as well as in the next. We are looking forward to continuing to drive the shift towards more sustainable manufacturing together with you.
HAPPY HOLIDAYS!
