Sandvik celebrates 50 years of manufacturing of its Osprey® line of products

Sandvik announces that its Osprey® line of products has passed an impressive milestone of 50 years of manufacturing at its site at Neath, UK where it produces the market’s widest range of gas atomized metal powders and its unique range of Controlled Expansion (CE) alloys.

This milestone is a testament to the dedication, hard work, and innovation of all employees, partners, and customers who have been part of the journey.

Over the past five decades, the unit in Neath, UK has grown from its humble beginnings to utilize its proprietary atomising technology to become a world-leading manufacturer of gas-atomized metal powders and CE alloys.

Today, the Neath production site is the cornerstone of Sandvik’s metal powder manufacturing capability. The Osprey® range of metal powders is the broadest on the market with over 2 000 different alloys specialising in fine and mid-fraction sizes.

This atomising technology also enables Sandvik to manufacture its range of HIPped CE alloys suitable for various applications, including those with extreme temperature variations.
